If you shop in the beauty aisle, you know that ‘affordable’ doesn’t have to be synonymous with ‘cheap.’ One exceptional brand that proves this is Lakme. The iconic company was founded in 1952 by JRD Tata. Bases, colour – even skincare feature in their lineup – Lakme has got every step completely covered. Having swatched, marvelled and swooned over it all, I’ve cut it down to my three favourites. Show and tell time…
Without a doubt the product I fell in love with the most was the Lakme Lip Love Lip Care. If you’re obsessed with the original Lakme balm lineup, you know that these formulas are moisturizing and non greasy and feel ultra-lightweight on your pucker. Slick it on, and you’ll notice a subtle pink tint. In Autumn, my list of foundation demands is pretty extensive: I want a sheer formula that can even out my blotchy complexion but also be mattifying that doesn’t feel heavy or greasy. The 9to5 Primer + Matte Powder Foundation accommodates my challenging requests with ease.
The nail polishes are the other thing that catch my eye that I’d recommend adding to your lists. Beautifully made and affordable so that you wouldn’t worry about cart total (I may be a little too excited about this), the Absolute Gel Stylist Nail Polishes are also worth looking into. Coral Rush (pictured above) is a good coral polish for all year round but my toenails have been rocking this for almost two weeks with no chips! Although this is a great bright polish I will also bring this out near winter as it really is a versatile colour. It’s also very professional if you cannot wear ‘fun’ colours to work. A good all-rounder.
The line is ripe for pickings. Pick away. There’s plenty to choose from.
P.S) I have a sneaking suspicion some of you may ask about my feelings on Lakme’s Enrich Satin Lip Colour, so…. personally I’m not a fan, it’s a little greasy and heavy for my tastes. Over and out.
