When spring gets cheeky with Faces and has a small baby, it’s a guaranteed formula that ends with a generous handful of new shades entering into my nail polish inn. I received a duo from their Splash collection and it was approximately six hours before my favourite of the bunch, Aureolin made its way onto my nails. A straight-up yellow complete with high shine, it’s love. Now I’m not usually one for brightness in my lacquer, but this whole sun induced appearance is something I can appreciate – good thing really as the other one, the green Go Green has this barely there shine.

Is it a neutral? No. Is it pale? No. Is it a pastel? Ummmm, not sure. My current lacquer loves that I’ve been flashing on my fingertips don’t fall neatly into a colour family at all, but sort of make a new category of their own, being of a mix of all the aforementioned shades. Soft, delicate and a nice autumn alternative to the blues I was sporting all monsoon, and the pinks of the past few months. Perfect for both sets of paws, I like to wear them paired with a stack of gold and turquoise set rings for a bit of festive flavour. Sally Hansen’s Triple Shine Nail Enamel in Drama Sheen heads up the pack and is the lightest of the trio. My favourite is Colorbar Nail Polish in Baby Peach, which has a touch of orange to it, making it the most eye-catching. The Lakme Absolute Gel Stylist Nail Colour in Caramel Melt is a stunner and the hardiest in formula – five days without even a touch of tip wear, and it’s under Rs.500.

With the arrival of some soft colours, it seems autumn has finally arrived. Well, on my nails at least…

I love Lakme eyeliners and these new ones are all about different shades. I have Royal Blue which is absolutely perfect for me. Here’s the low down on the Lakme Eyeconic Kajal.

We’ve all been there, when your base just looks a little to ‘done’. A bit cakey, heavy and when a close-up mirror inspection is conducted visible pigment powders cling to your pores – it’s not a good look. Whether you’re road testing a new foundation, or just got exuberant with the powder – I usually find it’s when I’ve gone a tad too heavy handed with a fuller-coverage choice from my foundation wardrobe – there’s a big temptation to sack it in, reach for the bottle of Bioderma and start again from scratch. But after a chance spritz and save the other day from a bottle of glow-dosing water I discovered the perfect remedy to turn heavy into hydrated…

You know when you are completing that all important look, your makeup is perfect and it’s time for the finale? Brows, I’m talking about brows! Over the past few years getting ‘fleeky’ brows has been all the rage and why not? They change the face game big time. So I was thrilled to be able to try the new Maybelline Fashion Brow.

Naturally having dark brown hair I opted for the Brown colour. Here is how I got on…

The budget VS. high-end debate is always going to be one that always rages on. Now I love what the Indian market has to offer, I’ve got the small fortune amassed on my Lifestyle InnerCircle Card to prove it but my yearning for something a little luxe usually wins and there are many treats I forgo in life to fund that. Boo. However there are a few non wallet-whopping tried and tested products that crop up in my rotation; some newer additions and others that have been hanging around for ages. All under Rs.500 and get a G&M thumbs up. Welcome to a very beefy edit of ‘The Budget Buy’…

If there’s one thing I’m guilty of in the evenings, it’s not being able to switch off (and deciding that I wish to eat cake at 11pm at night). The Keep app on my cell is crammed with muddled midnight typings that I sleepily add in the desperate hope to get all things bloggy off my mind. It makes for some entertaining reading. Sometimes I just need to relax. And to get into that state I have a bevy of good smelling stuff to get me in the mood. Enter, Soulflower’s Energy Boost*; a blend more formulated for a daytime hit of perkiness, but I use it all-day, everyday whenever I have a ‘pull yourself together woman’ moment. They happen. Often. A mix of Rosemary, Grapefruit, Lemon and Peppermint among others paired with some subtle mind games make me feel that wee bit more chilled whenever I roll it on. Temples, wrists and my pillow seem to be my favourite scent spots but it’s taken up permanent residency in the depths of my bag and gets hauled out whenever I need a roll.
