Just a quick open and close of my nail polish drawer reveals a new level of ridiculousness. Let’s just say I own way more polishes than I do nails, have umpteen shades that fit the sheer pink category and possess all the cult favourites. It’s not a proud moment. But when it comes to nail lacquer I just can’t help myself, there’s something about the feeling of an at home mani with a new colour to luxe-up your outfit. However in reality only a small selection enter my everyday polish rotation and my collection got me thinking whether I could whittle it down to a mere ‘Starter Kit-esque’ edit. And you know what with some careful colour deduction, I just about can…

Unless you’ve been living under a well placed rock for the past few days then you would have heard that we’ve been melting in India, which fills us as a nation with equal measures of dread and excitement. I’ve been going down the excitement route and for the last three days have been exchanging hourly pictures of the outside view with my brother documenting the season, cause we’re cool like that. And yesterday while heat dispelling activities flurried round me, I whacked out my camera and snapped happily away at my spring day skincare saviours; the combination of which has kept my skin looking somewhat buff and bouncy in the melty furnace conditions (well it’s currently 28°C, but we love to exaggerate a little)…

After a season crammed of resolute reds, bolshy berries and sometimes garish glitter nails, I’m embracing a shift to sheer coats. It’s time to wheel out those ‘my nails but better’ and ‘I’ve just had a mani’ shades which can imitate a perfectly groomed nail like no other. Nothing new, neither groundbreaking here today but if your nails are in need of a bold nail break then I have just the ticket…

Give Me A Glitter Nail swatch

Yesterday I lacquered myself up with an office safe caramel shade on my nails but I felt it needed something a little extra to tip it over the edge of being boring; a shimmering, glistening glitter nail to be precise. I’m not a fan of ten digits of glimmer, mainly cause I pre-empt how bloody painful removal of the stubborn stuff can be; so a well placed ring-finger accent is good enough for me.

Ever since my hair has been dunked and dipped into colour I’ve had to give it a little more TLC than I used to. My hair doesn’t fall completely into the ‘dry and damaged’ category just yet but it drinks up the good stuff these days so I’ve had to add a fair few new products into my routine, so today it’s the mane maintenance edit…

I can’t say I’m a huge sales lover. I have been known to sharpen my elbows and fight to the frontline with the best of them in previous years but more often than not I’d end up with less than necessary buys: a lurid shade of eyeshadow that I’d never use, purchased in the haze of 50% discount and a piece of clothing that was either too short, tight or damn right horrendous for me to ever wear again. So I now treat it as more of a spectator sport and tend to stick to browsing online from the comfort of my sofa and the warmth of a blanket with a slightly more focused mind. While everyone in the house was deep in slumber last night I stumbled across some pretty darn good deals on the Nykaa sale, an order was made (oh gawd) and the idea for this post was birthed. Instead of keeping my bargain basement deals to my own checkout basket in the spirit of Valentine’s I thought I’d share, so here are my top picks that I discovered in my bleary eyed browsing sesh…

It’s fair to say that my beauty stash is ever expanding. I’ve lost count of the number of lipsticks I own (please tell me I’m not the only one who has a hefty lipstick supply!?), my shower gel stores grow by the day and I have more than enough nail polish to open up a well-stocked nail salon. It’s fair to say I have enough beauty stuffs around me to last me a good few years or build a small bungalow if needed. So when a repurchase is made, it’s a big deal. I sneaked into Lifestyle the other day to pick up two essential items that I had recently used right to the depths of the tube, time for a repurchase.
