I can’t say I’m a huge sales lover. I have been known to sharpen my elbows and fight to the frontline with the best of them in previous years but more often than not I’d end up with less than necessary buys: a lurid shade of eyeshadow that I’d never use, purchased in the haze of 50% discount and a piece of clothing that was either too short, tight or damn right horrendous for me to ever wear again. So I now treat it as more of a spectator sport and tend to stick to browsing online from the comfort of my sofa and the warmth of a blanket with a slightly more focused mind. While everyone in the house was deep in slumber last night I stumbled across some pretty darn good deals on the Nykaa sale, an order was made (oh gawd) and the idea for this post was birthed. Instead of keeping my bargain basement deals to my own checkout basket in the spirit of Valentine’s I thought I’d share, so here are my top picks that I discovered in my bleary eyed browsing sesh…

It’s fair to say that my beauty stash is ever expanding. I’ve lost count of the number of lipsticks I own (please tell me I’m not the only one who has a hefty lipstick supply!?), my shower gel stores grow by the day and I have more than enough nail polish to open up a well-stocked nail salon. It’s fair to say I have enough beauty stuffs around me to last me a good few years or build a small bungalow if needed. So when a repurchase is made, it’s a big deal. I sneaked into Lifestyle the other day to pick up two essential items that I had recently used right to the depths of the tube, time for a repurchase.

I’m not sure if you’ve realised but I’m one of those hot weather moaners. In fact, I’m constantly hot throughout the year, even in the cold of winter I’m sweating under a t-shirt or questioning weather it’s OK to wear skirts on a night out (answer – it is, as long as you don’t mind holding your sweaty hair up in an apple-like fashion all night when you forget to bring a hairband out with you). So I think it’s time to bring out the big guns and indulge in some autumn SOS…

An autumn nail polish line-up. Cute, huh? Well this green to rose rainbow of hues is what has been gracing my nails over recent weeks. Now please note that none of these shades are from the actual Autumn 2015 collections as each time I’ve visited a stand in Lifestyle the counter has been ram-raided by fellow nail polish lovers like myself and there are no new shades to be seen. So for the meantime I’m sticking with right on greens and downright dirty greiges…

Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel in Balsam Fir is absolutely gorgeous. I love a green nail polish and this one is spot on!

Please excuse the misleading title of this post, but with my woeful love for alliteration, it would have been criminal not to mention the phrase ‘New Nude’ in this post. But let’s move on for the non-OCD folk and chat nudes. When it comes to nails I tend to go for extremes on both sides of the colour spectrum, brilliantly bold – I’m thinking Bourjois Bleu Water (remember that one?) or stylishly simple. Right now, I’m embracing the neutral side of proceedings…

BB creams – the face product phenomenon that just won’t seem to go away. Conceals and covers, protects and perfects, these nourishing skincare-rich potions claim to do it all and lets face it – BB creams are old news now. Hell, now it’s CC creams that are close to hitting our shores. After brushing off the hype for so long I’ve caved over the last few months and given some a road-test and the above line-up contains a star, a thumbs up and 2 duds. Read on for my BB edit…
