Olivia Professional Gold Facial

There are a few products I really like from Olivia in terms of skincare and so I was really pleased to try this Olivia Professional Gold Facial Kit*. It’s a gorgeous little system with a fabulous edit of essentials in very decent travel sizes. I road tested this little kit and was very pleased indeed. It also meant that I got to try a couple of items I hadn’t before and it included a lovely face cleanser which I have to say is definitely one of my essentials. Say what?

I’m telling you Linking Road, Bandra is a dangerous place. Not only do I end up exiting with a bagful of cute, yet horrendously cheap clothes, I’m also rather partial to a peruse of the beauty stores. On my last trip there I ended up with two purchases from a brand I’ve heard very little about, Kama Ayurveda. A luxury organic hair, bath and body line that shuns synthetics in favour of high quality ingredients (you can read the stuff here).

Shiseido RS 452 dupe

I did it! I finally wore the Shiseido Lipstick that I’ve been looking lustfully at for months, RS 452. A thick opaque colour that finishes things off with a magenta fuchsia tinge – though more to the fuchsia side of proceedings. What d’ya think? I’ve been attempting to pull it off combo-ed up with a sheer base. And there are no complaints on the formula; it’s a creamy finish so lacquers on loud and proud and stays put until you remove it or go to town on something greasy (tried and tested baby).

What is it with me and foundations, eh? I have *cough* three (albeit rather small) drawers *cough* of bases that really do cover all bases and yet still nothing beats the thrill of clicking checkout on yet another addition to the foundation family. Perhaps it’s cause I’m being a bit of a base floozy at the moment (the Colorbar Full Cover Makeup Stick still wears the crown but my ‘everyday base’ slot could do with some more options) or it could be to do with my makeup mantra that preaches if you’re sorted on the foundation front then who gives two hoots about the rest of it. Gurl, you’re gonna look good. So with a lighter coverage focus, there’s been three new additions to the drawers…

‘More skincare?’, I hear you collectively sigh. Yes more. As if I don’t have enough cleanser, toner, serum, moisturiser, eye cream, face mask, treatment options already. But you see there were 3 reasons that when summed led to me to say yes to the Richfeel Skin Whitening Facial Kit*.

A deep burgundy lipstick?! I know, are you sitting down? On paper, the Lakme 9 to 5 Matte Lipstick in Burgundy Business and a peachy lip lover like myself look like we wouldn’t get on. But you know what, I loove it. Matte, opaque and just the right tooth-whitening, lip popping flash of berry, I see this becoming quite the sunshine’s out shade for me. If this was sheer, I’m not sure I’d be as hot on it. But the fact that one quick swipe coats on just the right amount of a your lips but a burgundier hue and leaves them feeling nicely nourished, I’m in. It almost reminds me of the shade you get when you’ve a kala khatta gola – not too crazy. Mascara: required, the rest of your makeup: optional.

I picked mine up from a rather fruitful Health & Glow trip. At Rs.365 it’s the cheapest pick of the pack, and for berry summer lips, I’m sorted.
