Where I may be a floozy in certain makeup categories, I definitely make up for it with my loyalty in one. Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara has been the only mascara for me for almost two years and my love affair with it being a well documented one that has cropped up in practically every ‘The Makeup‘ post since I first laid my lashes with the stuff. It holds a curl, adds just the right amount of clout and leaves no panda-eye residue even after a long ass day. The. Best. But after a 24 month relationship, the curiosity has set in and with my Max Factor love being a little more difficult to source from the aisles of Health & Glow these days, I thought it was time to see if the grass is greener on the other side. So here’s a clutchful of mascaras spanning the save and spend ends of the spectrum, tried and tested…

I am rather having a nail polish moment, every now and then I go through a phase of becoming really interested in one kind of beauty product and in this instance it is nail polish. I never used to be one for getting excited over a new collection but recently I have been purchasing new shades like they are going out of fashion…someone stop me before I become a hoarder!

I’ve whittled down my hair care harem to a head-pleasing edit – but there’s a problem. The pinnacle of achieving undone ‘I-swear-I-haven’t-touched-it’ locks with a swoosh load of volume rests on a rather purse-weeping purchase, Bed Head’s After Party Cream. You’ve no doubt heard me go on about the volume-injecting properties of this little can of goodness before. But since my hair has grown, my longer do is just lapping up the stuff and at Rs.900 for the bad boys (I’ve gone through two of these, lets not do the maths), it’s becoming quite the pricey habit. Here’s the justification…

Chambor Eyeshadow Trio in Dazzling Sphinx

You might be bored of neutral eyeshadow palettes, but how about dazzling neutrals?! Well one word can make all the difference! I have the Chambor Eyeshadow Trio Palette in Dazzling Sphinx here to show you. So if you don’t have a neutrals palette you love, which is a highly unlikely scenario for many beauty junkies, then this one is worth a look because it has a mix of finishes and a nice non-neutral to make things a little bit interesting.

Super Liner Blackbuster

L’Oreal Paris just seem to bring it when it comes to products that seamlessly weave their way into your everyday routine. The Super Liner Gelmatic in Blue, The 6 oil Nourish Extraordinary oil, The Anti-Breakout Facial Cleanser – oh have I not mentioned the last one before? That will be popping up soon, but you get the gist. Kick-ass products that leave you scratching your head as to what you used before them. Their Super Liner Blackbuster doesn’t so much fit into that category. It’s a black, felt liner that when placed into the wrong hands can create panda eyes in seconds. However duo-ed with a gentle touch and informed technique it can be pretty much whatever you want it to be.

Time for a bit more of Revlon and in this episode I find lavender-pink lipstick heaven!! I have the shade Porcelain Pink and it’s love. Oh my goodness, I am loving this lipstick. It’s a perfect pearl, doesn’t dry the lips, feels super comfortable and also looks amazing. I love it! I am obsessed with pink lipstick and Porcelain Pink really is my perfect pink. I am SO glad I chose that shade. I absolutely love it. It is easy to apply, makes lips appear fuller and more flawless and literally lasts and lasts. The major plus point is that it is very nourishing and doesn’t dry out the lips at all. And I am loving this shade!

Revlon Casino Lights2

I’ve been stuck in a nail colour rut recently. OK, I’ve been experimenting with nail wraps and you know I have a penchant for sheer nudes; I’ve even indulged in a one-coat blobbed on in the back of a cab mani (which actually went surprisingly well), but I just hadn’t found ‘the one’, you know? A punch of colour that has you looking down every five minutes in a ‘new shoes‘ kind of way. Well I’ve found it. After a rummage around in the lacquer stocks I found this polish I purchased as a souvenir, a whole five months ago that hadn’t even been slicked on once. Criminal, I know. Ladies and Gents, Revlon’s ColorStay Gel Envy longwear polish in Casino Lights
