Maybelline Color Sensational Bold Matte Lipstick in MAT 3 swatch

This lipstick was very much a grower for me. I had swatched it at the Maybelline counter many a time, fell in love but never walked away with it in hand. However when I did get round to purchasing it, it took a while for me to really enjoy using it. I had heard so much about these lipsticks, I sort of felt the need to join in; everyone raves about MAT 1 and MAT 2 but you don’t really hear too much about this colour, MAT 3. In fact it’s one that most counters don’t even have out on display, so you have to ask to get a peek, I guess that makes it feel even more special!

Ah me, I just love those trains don’t I? If I’m not commuting to and from work on them in the week, then I’m trekking up North to see relatives at the weekend! You can’t tear me away! I’ve actually become quite the expert packer when it comes to my travel suitcase. And when it comes to makeup I now really know what is a must-have and what can be left at home (aka ‘no I do not need four lipsticks for a weekend break’). Let me show you the two things which are always the first things I pack.

Well a big song and dance was made when the Lakme Absolute Nail Colours made their way to markets, wasn’t there! The Beauty Blogger hype parade came into town! After seeing the peeps go on about them I promised myself I wouldn’t give into pressure, but sure enough I began trying to scout them out! Silly Gauri! It wasn’t easy, these little bottles of nail colour are difficult to come across and if the store does have them then 9 times out of 10 you’ll have only 12 colours to choose from. In the end I found a small display and picked up the shades Aqua Express and Crimson Fire.

The minute that I get home from work I throw my hair on top of my head. Without a second thought up it goes, whipped in a hairband and from that moment on it’s affectionately known as the ‘apple’. However if I decide to rock the ‘apple’ throughout the day then I’ve found a great little trick to help me achieve the perfect imperfect bun…

The Lakme Absolute Gel Stylist nail polishes are seriously making me happy!! I don’t know why but I have a serious thing about blue nail polish and what could be better for Autumn than a gorgeous dark blue. I fell instantly in love with the Lakme Absolute Gel Stylist – Blue Royale. Autumnal perfection no? I am obsessed!!!

Up until a month ago, I would have fully said that I was a MAC and Sigma girl when it came to makeup brushes. I used the Sigma F80 for my foundation, the MAC 224 for concealer, the MAC 109 for contouring, MAC 187 for blush, MAC 188 for highlight and the MAC 150 brush for powder which I’ve had for two years and it’s still going strong! That was until I went a bit crazy about a month ago now. I treated myself to two of the three Real Technique kits that are available. Currently my Real Techniques collection stands at the Setting Brush, the Fine Liner Brush, Core Collection and the Travel Essentials Set and although I may own the two sets there are just six that I reach for on a daily basis..

swatches for revlon neutral dupe

I’m sure you are all bored of me raving on about Revlon’s Photoready Blush in Neutral by now, but a few of you asked for a more in-depth review and a comparison post, so here it goes. It’s fair to say that Neutral has pretty much been all that has adorned my apples since I brought it over a month ago now. Revlon are famed for their natural skin-like formulations in wearable colours and this blush fits exactly into that mould. A neutral blush with a nice amount of pink and a slight golden shimmer; it gives such a natural glow to the cheeks and stays around all day too. It was always one that caught my eye and I’m so glad I finally took the plunge and purchased it as I think it is my new favourite blush, especially when I look at it compared to my other neutral offerings.
