I am the definition of anti-hoarder. If I can make anything ‘capsule’ I will and T.V programmes titled ‘The Hoarder Next Door’ and ‘Extreme Couponing’ have me itching to march over there with a roll of bin bags stuffed in my pocket. There is however an exception to this rule, *cough* makeup *cough*, but when it comes to my wardrobe – the more streamlined the better. Perhaps it’s just my inner Virgo, hyper-organised instincts kicking in again but I do love a good wardrobe clear-out at the weekend. And I thought I’d pen down my five steps to wardrobe clarity. Drowning in clothes that haven’t seen the light of day for a few years? I’ve got your back.

I’m in love with the #zithappens campaign for The Body Shop Tea Tree Range and actually, it even caught my dad’s eye and he was impressed! So it shows it’s one of those things that truly resonates with lots of different people! The #ZitHappens campaign is all about accepting that blemishes do happen, whether you’re male, female, young or old! It’s about remembering that you’re not alone with blemishes and that you don’t have to let your blemishes sock your confidence or self-esteem.

french braid tools

The title of this post should probably be ‘Hey look at this knot that I’ve created in my hair’, but instead I’m going to try and pass it off as a French braid. Yeah? Sorta? I mean it’s more of a plait, but you see where I’m trying to go with this. It’s become a bit of a regular thing that when I’ve got a spare half an hour at the weekend, I set up shop in front of the mirror with a plaiting YouTube how-to, a bunch of bands and my nimble fingers at the ready in a desperate attempt to master all things twisted. My obsession with a bit of side-swept braid action began way back in my Hills-viewing days, L.C always rocked a good one and so I’ve got to get down to it.

Sometimes the whole two-hour long weekend pamper extravaganza just isn’t feasible. Ain’t nobody got time for that. So in my head I’ve got saved four five minute fix routines that I work through when time is a little thin on the ground. Sometimes I tote them up into a 20 minute speed sesh or I just focus my TLC on one area and then I’m free to cuddle up on the sofa with Harvey, Mike and Baskin and Robbins in no time at all (sorry got Suits on the brain still, season 5 is being devoured at lightning speed)…

Because there’s only one thing better than a weekend pamper sesh – a DIY groom with products that smell ridiculously amazing, right? So good in fact, that you tend to go heavy handed just to eek out that whiff a little bit more (see my description below of the The Body Shop’s Tea Tree Face Mask which will explain why I go to bed after a skincare session every night). So this weekend I’m bringing out the sweet scented big guns…

You remember my basket right? It’s been over a year since I showed you round these parts (see here and here for past basket tours), but it’s still around and holding my daily body, hair, feet and other miscellaneous essentials. I thought this weekend I’d take you round what currently sits in my go-to basket of beauty bits…

If there’s one thing you’ve to know about me is – aside from the fact that I just love hogging the bed covers – it’s that I need a good 30 minute warning before bed to complete all the necessary steps and pre-slumber beauty tasks. First there’s the skincare routine, any additional bolt-ons, heck sometimes even a chipped nail SOS sesh before I slip into bed to carry out those final few bedside beauty must-dos. It’s lengthy, but I love it. So this weekend I’ve been raking through the bedside stuff and streamlining my stash.
