Sleeping is easily up there in my top five activities. Nothing beats cosying up under the covers after a long day, pajamas on, Ranveer Singh film rolling – a little snapshot of my nightly routine there for you. I love a little ritual and my bedtime beauty formula is no exception; there are oils, serums and masks that all make an appearance before I snuggle up. Lately I’ve become a little consumed with a trio. So this weekend I thought I’d share my thoughts..

If I scoff another Mama G&M homemade chocolate pudding then I may just have to be rolled into the new week. So it’s time to lay off the treats, dust off the yoga mat that was last used 11 months ago and begin a bit of a detox. But I’m not talking handfuls of the green stuff meeting a juicing machine, I’m bringing it back down to beauty (as always) and finishing the week off on a pampering high. Welcome the detoxifying pamper edit and start the week off on the right beauty foot…

Today marks my 25th (!?!?!) Weekend Post. Which means there’s been 25 posts full to the brim of preening, pampering and primping with a hella load of skincare, body and hair care treats along the way with some Sunday beauty chores thrown in as well. Phew. These are easily my favourite posts of the week to write and to test out products for – who doesn’t love an hour long bath all in the name of blogging research? But to celebrate, somewhat, this milestone I thought I’d note down my favourite posts and products from this category that I happily partake in most weekends. These are rituals that (I hope) will never go away, welcome to The Ultimate Weekend Post…

This weekend I thought I’d mix it up a bit, quite literally. I’m regularly showing off my baking wares on Instagram (glossandmagic, if you fancy some food and makeup porn) and a few of you asked for them to be leaked onto the blog, but I don’t want to lean away from beauty too much. So I thought I’d incorporate one of my favourite things to bake into a caramel Sunday conglomerate – a kitchen marathon with the aim to produce seriously sweet caramel pudding followed by an equally satisfying mani with Lakme’s Caramel Melt Gel Stylist. This recipe isn’t too tricky – hey, if I can make it and the results are half edible, then anyone can – but put aside a good hour or so and get your MasterChef cap on. And it’s based on this recipe. First up ingredients…

Every night when I slip into bed at least another five minutes pass before I’m actually able to roll over and snooze. I may snuggle under my sheets with my skincare routine completed, but I still like to throw on my bedtime beauty bits that occupy my bedside table prior to me hitting up snoozeland. The products included mainly follow the mantra of ‘moisturise, moisturise, moisturise’ – hands, face and feet all get the nourishing treatment and yes it is completely necessary for there to be four multi-tasking balms housed next to me…

So I can’t lie, last night got a little wild. It involved girlfriends, a few too many mojitos and some flailing arm dancing – we practically had to be dragged out of the bar. Too much fun. Fast forward to this morning, after a total number of hours spent asleep I could count on one hand, a sore head and my uncle’s family due to arrive in 10 minutes I had to act fast and wipe away that rum-ragged look. Cue the wonder products, the well-rested, glow-and-go combo that gets whipped out whenever the morning after the night before ain’t all that fruity…

With everything a little up in the air at the moment my usual beauty routine has taken a back seat. You just have to look at my chipped nails, unruly brows and slightly on the greasy-side locks to suss that one out (painting a ravishing picture of myself there, eh?). But with today having absolutely nothing to do, I’ve christened it ‘Sort Yourself Out Woman’ evening. First stop, the face mask routine of all face mask routines – so good in fact I call it the ‘Triple Threat’ facial – three steps and your skin is left as smooth as a babies bottom, true story. It’s a pretty lengthy process, but definitely worth setting an hour aside, wallowing in the bed while you slather on the masks to wave hello to a new layer of skin…
