I don’t know what came over me last month, but it wasn’t until I was working on my September Favourites video that I realised I’d purchased three blushes. Averaging at 1 blush buys every 10 days – that is definitely a personal record. With the Sivanna Colours Blush being a non-negotiable in my routine for as long as I can remember I think it was about time my cheek arsenal got some fresh meat. So here’s a rundown of the three blushes in question (including that Essence offering):
Maybelline Fit Me Blush in Deep Coral. The effect is beautiful. You get a diffused wash of colour with a wonderful ethereal glow that lights up the skin and adds a real look of health. It also works brilliantly on the lids to add a soft sheen and really pull your look together in a subtly harmonious way.
Now finally – after months of searching – managed to get my hands on the Essence Silky Touch Blush in Autumn Peach. You’ve heard the raves. I’m here to tell you they are all true. Perhaps not as silky as the name suggests, but it sure is as peachy. This blush formulation from Essence lasts very well on my skin. Autumn Peach is a wonderful warm neutral tone that hangs around longer than your average blush. Lovely. Worth the hunt to find this shade in stock? Definitely.
The Makeup Revolution Iconic Palette in Flush doesn’t sound like my usual kind of get-up, but after hearing rave after rave on this palette of goodness my natural intrigue gave in. It’s one of those ‘does what it says on the tin’ jobbies – bronzing and highlighting like a trooper in a formula that does not budge. The blush gives the skin a beautiful and fresh flush of colour and applies easily and builds without overloading the skin. It really brightens the complexion and gives it the look of freshness and youth. And the texture is really nice – a beautiful fine powder that blends effortlessly. Lovely!
Crazy for blushes? I definitely think so. But all three have proved themselves worthy of a purchase.
