I’m telling you Linking Road, Bandra is a dangerous place. Not only do I end up exiting with a bagful of cute, yet horrendously cheap clothes, I’m also rather partial to a peruse of the beauty stores. On my last trip there I ended up with two purchases from a brand I’ve heard very little about, Kama Ayurveda. A luxury organic hair, bath and body line that shuns synthetics in favour of high quality ingredients (you can read the stuff here).
So I went for the Organic Neem Oil, I know – yet another oil? But I fancy myself as a bit of a connoisseur of them. It’s a bit like when I go to a new restaurant I like to try the Crepe or Stuffed Mushroom dishes – I love ’em and they work as a good control condition. On first application it performs well; it is absolutely heavenly and seriously uplifting, I have been using it before the shower for about a week and when I put it on I actually find myself ooohing and ahhhing and generally displaying my approval quite audibly! So far, so good. The Ubtan on the other hand is a little different for me. A combination of finely powdered herbs, cereals, pulses and nuts with no harmful lauryl sulfates. Only time will tell on this one – expect a progress report soon.
The Organic Neem Oil and Ubtan are Rs 675 and Rs 595 respectively available from Kama Ayurveda or Nykaa online. The quest for body care has been possibly solved in the aisles of Ayurveda. Who’d have thought it?
