Lotus Herbals Natural Kajal, MAC Pro Longwear Eyeliner in Black Ice, Maybelline Colossal Kajal
I got it for my birthday, and with a Rs.990 price tag this is definitely something to purchase as a treat! But isn’t it beautiful? The colour itself is right up my street! A rich black, with a modern matte finish it is easily something that could be worn everyday just swept over the waterline. Although the colour is a beaut, it’s the formula that does it for me. The consistency is lightly creamy but more waxy than anything else, so it glides across well enough, it’s one of those you have to feel to believe, as dreamy as that sounds! It comes housed in a light wooden pencil with a luxe signature MAC black matte finish. Ever since I brought it last month I have worn it everyday since on my eyes with lashes of mascara. The staying power is good, I put on my makeup about 8am and by 9pm it is still around, but slightly faded. To show you it’s true beauty, I have attempted to take a photo of it on the eyes, but in true beauty blogger style despite taking around 30 photos they were all pants and I’ve had to settle for one where you can see a tiny hint of colour peeking out from the inner corners of my eye.
You get the idea 😉 Just a very natural look, with a subtle dark smoke! When it comes to application, it’s very pigmented and doesn’t require layering to achieve full color coverage on the lash line!
When I first brought Black Ice home I thought that I would have a ridiculous amount of dupes already in my collection; you guys know I am rather partial to a jet black line. However when I swatched this against some possible dupes I was surprised..
See they are all completely different! See! See 😉 Lotus Herbal’s is the closest dupe to MAC Black Ice, but as you can see Black Ice is slightly blacker and ‘darker’ I guess you could say. When I first purchased Black Ice I thought that it’s closest rival would be Maybelline Colossal kajal, which you guys know is my FAV kajal of all time, but it looks almost a dark grey in comparison and much less pigmented than Black Ice, I have a feeling that my new MAC purchase may overtake it as my HG eyeliner. I have seriously worn it everyday since I brought it, it’s so easy and quick to throw on and gives an exquisite look to my eyes without looking overdone.
