My Makeup: Fashion Week Mash-Up

Fashion Week Mash-Up

As promised last week, here are my favourite beauty bits from all the Fashion Weeks thrown on my face – makeup mash-up style. Different aesthetics? Who cares? A trend on trial if you will. It all went on and the results weren’t too horrendous. Here are the deets:

For hair I dug the undone glam gritted curls at Fendi. Now despite a bulging hair tool drawer I don’t actually own a curling tong, so I had to make do with some straightener included curls. My hair was already on its ‘second day’ so I didn’t add any more styling product to it. The results? Well, I wasn’t too crazy about it. The curls weren’t curly enough *adds curling tong to shopping list*.

Another element that didn’t really hit the mark for me was the nails which I’d lifted from the Gucci runway. Their nails looked amazing but as I don’t have claw-like nails and wasn’t interested to get extensions done, I made do with what I had. I lacquered in a coat of Chambor Intense Nail Colour in 451 and applied some crystals I had got from an arts and craft store. It was my first foray into nail embellishments so I think next time I’d go for something even smaller.

Lastly let’s address the makeup. My take on Rocky Star’s look. The brief was simple: peach on lips and cheeks. So I did exactly that using Essence Silky Touch Blush in Autumn Peach on cheeks and a light dab of Faces’ Glam on Colour Perfect Lipstick in Addicted on the lips. The outcome I liked and is one I’d give a go again for ‘no makeup, makeup’ days. The blush gives just the right amount of glow to ward off dull skin days and the lipstick dosed the lips with a nice level of shine and colour. Star – you hit the beauty spot.

And no I’m not sure if I’ll ever stop harping on about that Essence Blush, it’s just too damn good. But claw-like nails? I think I may have to pass on that one…
