Over recent weeks I’ve been gathering quite the collection of new-in products that I’ve been meaning to share. They’re not at the stellar standard that would deem them worthy of a spot in a monthly favourites just yet, but they’re well worth a nod and who knows maybe they’re destined for best-of-the-month status? But for now here’s a speedy show-and-tell and mid-month check-in of debuting stock that has got the G&M seal of approval.

I’m going to get things started with a lipstick that is getting the job done and getting it done real well – L’Oreal Paris’ Color Riche Moist Matte Lipstick (FYI, I have the shade Arabian Nights). So here’s the deal. This lipstick indeed has a super moisturising formula and it gives a very pretty matte finish. I was amazed at the texture. The texture is the smoothest of any lipstick that I have ever tried. The lipstick glides on the lips like a dream.

OK, let’s touch on that eyeshadow stick. It’s the Colorbar All Day Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick in Goldshow and it’s pretty drool-worthy, no? I stumbled across this while putting together a bridal makeup trousseau for my friend and it would have been rude not to road test it. The eyeshadow is equally soft and creamy; making it a go-to colour for a subtle daytime smoke to an all-out glamour lid look. My favourite combo? A deep bronze with a touch of this gold in the crease.

Do I need another lipstick? The definitive answer to that is no, but when I spotted the Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Coffee Shimmer on sale, how could I ignore it? I had liked the shade in the store, but somehow did not pick it up then. This time, I gave in and this gets added to the ever growing stash of my neutral lipsticks. The lipstick glides on smoothly and there is a creamy finish to the shade.

A new mask has entered the drawers at Chez G&M and it’s creamy and pretty dreamy. It’s Plum’s Green Tea Clear Face Mask; love its texture. So easy to apply and spread. Usually clay based masks are thick and difficult to spread on the face. But not this one!

It’s a rare occurrence for a pack to be accepted into the ranks – I’m fiercely loyal to my favourites – though this month there have been a handful of additions, most notably Blossom Kochhar Aroma Magic’s Activated Bamboo Charcoal Face Pack. If you’re not already enamoured by the branding, bottle or brilliantly labelled name then let me tell you it’s a joy to put on. I am truly amazed by charcoal’s benefits. Lovely.

So there you have it. A look into the crystal ball of upcoming favourites? You’ll have to wait and see on that count.
