Spoiled Nail Polish in Bite Me

One of my favourite beauty phenomenon to discover are one coat required berry nail polishes. Formulas that with a single stroke can transform a bed from bare to chic in five minutes flat. They are a bit of a rarity to find but I’ve got enough in my collection to see me through ‘damn I have to leave the house in a matter of minutes and am not sporting a mani #disaster’ days. I kid. Though if you’re lacking an uno-application rouge in your stash, here are a few of my favourites for ya:

Hello 2018! To kick off this year of G&M posts I thought I’d start by injecting a little humour into the month with some self-observed actions I’ve discovered recently all put together under the ’10 Signs You’re a Beauty Addict’ umbrella…

Plum Green Tea Clear Face Mask Ingredients

When I first spotted this mask on the market I had absolutely zero interest in it. I’m pretty well catered for already in the mask department. The moment I fell hook, line and sinker for it was when I met my friend A one day and her skin looked awesome. Like airbrushed awesome. The girl has ridiculously good skin anyway, but this was a whole new level of flawless. It took about two seconds for me to enquire about her skincare and when she replied saying it was the new Plum Green Tea Clear Face Mask, my interest switched from zero to off the barometer. After a bit of a wild goose-chase (I’ll elaborate later), I finally got my hands on this last week and after seven days of testing I’m ready to give my verdict.

If you’re a regular scroller on G&M you know by now that I’m partial to a good beauty read. I rarely manage to switch my brain to mute when it comes to the cosmetics world and that does include when I’m snuggled up, head on pillow about 20 minutes prior to deep slumber. In fact it’s perhaps the time at which it is most active given the current wad of makeup-filled pages that are overcrowding my bedside table. There’s barely room for my lamp. So this weekend I thought I’d mull over and share the best of my beauty reads.

Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick Coffee Shimmer

‘Rimmel’ and ‘Lipstick’ are two words that go together as well as ‘Ranbir’ and ‘Kapoor’ in my book. The few bolds from them that I own are some of my most slicked-on on a daily basis. But with their latest drop they are turning their attention to nudes and I’m listening. The shade in question is Coffee Shimmer, a brick brown. The Moisture Renew Lipstick is a sheer offering that coats the lips with a light veil of moisture-rich colour. It’s one of those ‘pat on or build-up’ jobs that will please dark lip newbies and old hands alike, though I’d throw it in the category of a ‘chic colour’; a shade that when applied just makes things look ‘polished’, not too try-hard. I like it worn best with a well-worked base and minimal eye makeup in a kind of ‘oh I just rolled out of bed and threw on this lipstick’ fashion.

Having been quiet on the skincare front for a while I thought it was about time I dropped in for a complexion-centric show-and-tell. So here’s the deal. With the cooler weather creeping in things have got a little dry concerning face-wise, a bit redder and it’s not all that great. I’m not painting the best picture here am I? But, there are a few products that I’ve successfully slotted into my routine that seem to be doing the trick from some debut brands to my line-up. I’ll fill you in…

Glamorous Block Heeled Sandals

Ladies and gents, the ‘throw on with anything, pretty comfortable, grab and go’ sandal void in my wardrobe has been filled. By the Glamorous Block Heeled Sandals with Tie-Up to be precise. There was a position vacant for a sandal with some levels of handsomeness but with a kinder to my toes nature and that’s where the Glamorous sandals come in. They are sort of like a chic Mary Jane sandal (never thought that would be a phrase I typed), with a block heel construction and a tie-up detail – I do love a good tie-up detail, I do. The heel is the perfect size for long wear; enough for a bit of elevation without being too demanding on the pads of your feet. Plus, they look fab with jeans or paired with tights, though I envision them at their best with bare legs and a nice little tunic in the summer.
