Shiseido RS 452 dupe

I did it! I finally wore the Shiseido Lipstick that I’ve been looking lustfully at for months, RS 452. A thick opaque colour that finishes things off with a magenta fuchsia tinge – though more to the fuchsia side of proceedings. What d’ya think? I’ve been attempting to pull it off combo-ed up with a sheer base. And there are no complaints on the formula; it’s a creamy finish so lacquers on loud and proud and stays put until you remove it or go to town on something greasy (tried and tested baby).

Here’s a little confession for you – I’m horrendously unfit. So unfit in fact that even just a short sprint to catch the bus leaves me feeling wheezy, puffy and I spend the rest of the bus journey with my elbows in the air to resist the pesky sweat patches that are desperately trying to break through. After numerous repeats of this episode, combined with the whole ‘beauty from within’, your skin will thank you etc etc thing (and a new found love for Nike town), I’ve decided to step up my non-existent exercise routine. Feel. The. Burn. Having not partaken in any type of physical activity since P.T lessons at school it’s quite the task, so I’m starting off small. The discovery that a journey round the block equates exactly to one km was a good one, so I’m treating it as a lap and attempting to jog round every other morning (the earlier the better, not as many people about to gasp and groan in the faces of) until I feel up to increasing the mileage. After a week or two of this routine I still have to hold something when I reach the finishing line, but I’m working on it and slowly but surely I’m coming for two km.

There’s no official word no matter how deep I dig around on the Internet, but its absence from the shelves and lack of an empty spot reserved for it on counter has lead me to the devastating realisation that L’Oreal False Lash Mascara has in fact (I think) been discontinued. Hold me. First one of the most perfect foundations in the world disappears and now this, I’m in makeup distress people. But my feels have been dampened slightly by the fact that I’ve stumbled across some pretty good substitutes for my long-lost mascara love. Two that I’ve finally begun to get on with. OK so none of them as beautifully crimping, volumising, lengthening, just the right amount of clumping credentials as the False Lash, but good enough. To the False Lash lovers I extend a tissue for your tears and two alternatives:

So I’ve been scratching my chin, furrowing my brow and pondering the topic of skincare a lot recently. Priorities, right? But there’s just something about my current regime that just isn’t clicking. I’ve done my research, going out of my way to select formulas that settle on the right balance between both natural and effective ingredients, taken direction from the experts, drinking a shed load of water, heck even exercising – but my skin just ain’t thanking me for it. It’s redder in places than it’s been in a long time and a little uneven in texture – not horrendous – but it’s seen better days. So what am I going to do about it? Well luckily I’ve been keeping notes on this one…

What is it with me and foundations, eh? I have *cough* three (albeit rather small) drawers *cough* of bases that really do cover all bases and yet still nothing beats the thrill of clicking checkout on yet another addition to the foundation family. Perhaps it’s cause I’m being a bit of a base floozy at the moment (the Colorbar Full Cover Makeup Stick still wears the crown but my ‘everyday base’ slot could do with some more options) or it could be to do with my makeup mantra that preaches if you’re sorted on the foundation front then who gives two hoots about the rest of it. Gurl, you’re gonna look good. So with a lighter coverage focus, there’s been three new additions to the drawers…

Oh well hello there cliched post title. I just couldn’t help myself. But by the powers of deduction, cheesy title and the picture above you’ve no doubt concluded that there’s a theme running through today’s edit. Orange. Yep I’ve combed through my drawers for the best of the block colour that looks good on everyone. Ready for your lips and tips to be tangoed?

how low can you go eye shadow

Let’s play a game of eye shadow limbo. When it comes to getting a little smudgy under the peepers – how low can you go? An Olsen-esque downward smudge of epic shadowy proportions, a barely there ‘squint and you see it’ line or heck none at all? It’s a topic I’ve been pondering this week after spending long lengths of time I wouldn’t like to admit to pouring over pictures of the aforementioned Mary-Kate and Ashley on Pinterest. And I’ve come to the conclusion that I rather enjoy a bit of under eye shadow action. Uber easy to execute and acts as a bit of a ‘I’ve made an effort today’ makeup indicator. So I’ve assembled together a few tips on how to get low when it comes to eye shadow limbo…
