The Beauty Bag: October

This is the beauty bag that I’ve wanted to put together since the first month of this feature. A bronzed, glowing, beach babe edit to get you beauty beefed up for the impending heat – if it ever decides to play nice. But just in case it does, or if you’re heading off to sunnier shores over the next few weeks – me? jealous? never – then here’s some red hot weather ready products that I’ll be adding into my makeup mix for the month of October…

A good bronzey eye is about as adventurous as I get, so I’ve got the copper coloured lid thing down. Maybelline’s The Nude Palette is a one stop shop for blended out smokiness. Not too bad in the longevity stakes either and I find the rusty shade to pair rather nicely with my peepers. If I fancy something a little more subtle, Studiowest’s Maya Crystal Eye Shadow in Goldmine may get an outing; the colours are a little sheerer but the wash of golden bronze all over the lid is worth the fuss. Talking of fuss, Chambor’s Eye Shadow Trio in Glowing Earth is a stunner but is a tough one to master. I find a well-primed lid, a flat brush and lots of tissue for the impending glitter fallout are essential. Seeing as things are getting a little bit sexy on the eyes, I’m planning on keeping lips simple; I predict The Body Shop’s Lip & Cheek Tint in Poppy Coral will be getting a lot of pout-time this month.

Lids sufficiently bronzed and lips sorted with a slick of coral, come on sun – I’m ready for ya.
