So I think I’m finally getting there with eyeliner. Over the years my struggle with the stuff has been a well documented one (see here), but I’ve really got to grips with a well-known tip that’s helped me master the feline flick. It’s nothing new and is a process I’ve proposed before but the tools and technique have just clicked into place and it’s now a look that I feel comfortable throwing on in a 5 minute window (before I needed more like 35 and the time it took to re-do my eye makeup from scratch 3 times on the clock).

Shu Uemura Curler Review

This is my first Shu Uemura curler and it did not disappoint! To start, I went with this one in particular because I saw Tati use it on her YouTube channel. I had to have it. The best part is this is hands down the best eyelash curler I have EVER used and I have used so many! Every damn curler I have bought always seems to pinch my eyelids because I’m trying to curl as close as possible to the root of my lashes. I’m not new to at using an eyelash curler, so curling my eyelashes shouldn’t be so difficult or painful.

So it’s only been a few months since things have got a little shorter lock-wise, but I’m already sensing what products are going to be coming to the forefront to lend their expertise on my locks. And I’m pretty excited about the whole thing. Can you tell? Therefore I thought I’d serve up what I’ve been reaching for in life post-mid lengths…

I’m thinking of starting a newsletter. I know, I know, I’m totally late on this and should have started months ago. There are multiple reasons I didn’t.

I honestly, didn’t know what to say, and still don’t. As it stands, I’ll probably be writing a bi-monthly newsletter…about how my blogging is going? I’m still not sure what to write to be honest. Now the reason I finally decided to start a newsletter was that I’ve started enjoying to read them.

I particularly like the ones which have a bunch of links as I love discovering new content creators. So, in my search for understanding how to create a newsletter, I landed on Campaign Monitor, which is a pretty sweet tool for not only creating beautiful emails but also analysing what works & why.

They have tons of resources on the website to help you wrap your head around emails/newsletters.

For example, just take a look at this neat checklist with all the details that you should check before hitting that Send button.

Having a strong support before venturing out in an unknown territory is so important & I’m so impressed with Campaign Monitor that I do think I’ll sign up whenever I decide to take the plunge in that content area. But for now I thought I’d share this with you guys, in case any of you are thinking of getting into it.

As for me, I’m going to give it a month, maybe two, to see what I want to share in the newsletter or if I enjoy doing it!

Lately, I’ve been pretty obsessed with Instagram. It’s an app where people take pictures, put a filter over it which makes every single photo you take look cool and then post it.

It’s the only app I use! I’ve seen these Instagram posts around and wanted to join in the crew but never knew how to collate all the photos together.

Then I had a Eureka! moment with screenshot! If you want to see what I do my Instagram username is ‘glossandmagic’ and let me know if this is something you’d like to see often. 😊

….and just look at that smile. A few weeks ago I had my hair cut off a length that it hasn’t been for the past 10 years. Admittedly it was only short back in the day because my Mom would always encourage the hairdresser to take off that extra inch while I was out of earshot. Since I entered the world of non-Mum supervised chops, I progressively let my hair grow longer and longer; eventually just failing to book in appointments at all due to lack of time and laziness *gross*. Though in the past year I’ve eased myself into the chicer mop I’ve always wanted from hair that almost touched my derriere to ends that now graze my elbows. And the ombré was left on the cutting room floor. Quite literally.
