Kriti Sanon on Cosmopolitan

Isn’t Kriti Sanon just bringing it on this month’s issue of Cosmopolitan. Well, she’s just got that whole ‘no makeup, makeup’ thing down to a whole new chic level. Very refreshing to see on the cover of a makeup-packed magazine; I may have let out a little gasp when I spotted it on the stands. So it got me thinking. She must be wearing some kind of makeup and just what would those edit of products look like. Here are my predictions and look that I’d ever so warily call a ‘re-creation’ – though my interpretation edges closer to ‘no makeup – run for your lives’ than picture perfect Kriti’s rendition.

Kriti’s base is seamless; not too dewy or matte, a coverage that mimics skin to a tee. So I chose Maybelline’s Fit Me! Matte+Poreless Foundation in Warm Nude. A sweep of Colorbar’s Flawless Touch Contour & Highlighting Kit was placed under the cheekbones for a subtle sculpt. I skipped concealer, just applying more foundation than I usually would under my eyes to leave some kind of shadow peeking through and forgot mascara completely just curling the lashes with my trusty Shu Uemura’s instead. After getting nose to nose with the picture there does look to be some kind of definition around Athiya’s eyes; for this I used the Colorbar Just Smoky Kajal in Just Marsala lightly under the eyes and blended with my finger all over the lids getting smudge happy.

The brows. Oh, the brows. How kick-ass are they? I gave mine a good preen with Makeup Revolution Focus & Fix Eyebrow Shaping Kit in Medium Dark; a product I love so much I’m on my second serving of. And to finish I tended to my lips. Now finding the perfect shade was near impossible for this one; I swatched every single lip product I own and nothing really hit that peach-tinged sheen shade exactly on the head. I have a sneaking suspicion that it’s Kriti’s natural lip colour with a touch of balm over the top. In the end I plumped for Colorbar’s Unicorn Fantasy Lipcolour in Nude Peach; a little more pinky than what I was looking for, but for the purpose of this experiment, it will do.

Whether it’s a copper-toned smokey eye or barely-there beauty hues; I do love a bit of Kriti-inspired makeup.

Girl, you’ve done it again.
